Several factors can cause a MacBook battery to become spoiled. Here are some of the most common reasons:
1️⃣ Age: All batteries have a limited lifespan and over time, they will eventually lose their ability to hold a charge. Consequently, you may need to replace the battery.
2️⃣ Heat: Mac batteries automatically shut down if they get too hot, as a result regularly experiencing a hot MacBook battery could be a sign of a problem and it should be checked out.
3️⃣ Poor storage methods: Storing the MacBook in extreme temperatures or exposing it to moisture subsequently can cause damage to the battery.
4️⃣ Rapid discharging: Frequent rapid discharging of the battery can cause chemical changes over time hence leading to battery damage.
5️⃣ Overcharging: Continuously charging the battery can cause chemical changes over time thus resulting in battery damage.
6️⃣ Overuse: Using the MacBook or applications excessively can cause the battery to drain faster than normal, shortening its lifespan.
✨ What are the symptoms that a MacBook battery is spoiled?
Indicating potential battery spoilage in a MacBook, here are some common symptoms:
1️⃣ Inability to hold a charge: If your MacBook battery won’t hold a charge or dies quickly even after being fully charged, it indicates that the battery is no longer functioning properly.
2️⃣ Inability to charge: When your MacBook battery is not charging at all, it could indicate a problem with the battery or the charging system thus resulting in an inability to charge the battery.
3️⃣ Overheating: Mac batteries will shut down automatically if they get too hot. Thus, if your MacBook battery is getting hot regularly, it could be a sign of a problem with the battery.
4️⃣ Rapid battery drain: If your MacBook battery is draining faster than usual, it could indicate that the battery is no longer holding a charge effectively, resulting in rapid battery drain.
5️⃣ Service warning: When your MacBook displays a battery service warning or messages like “Replace Soon,” “Replace Now,” or “Service Battery,” it is an indication that the battery has reached the end of its lifespan and requires replacement.
6️⃣ Swelling: Swelling or expanding of the battery is a clear sign of damage and swollen batteries can be dangerous. Therefore, immediate attention is necessary in such cases.
✨ What kind of battery is available for replacement?
We have two types of batteries available: OEM batteries, which are cheaper and suitable for short-term use, recommended for those planning to buy a new Mac soon. On the other hand, we also have the original battery option if you prefer to have the same battery as the one you had during purchase.
✨ Do they have a warranty?
Yes, we offer a warranty period ranging from six months to eighteen months, depending on the battery you choose.
✨ How long it will take to change them?
The time it takes to replace the battery depends on the MacBook model. We can do it on the spot for some Macs, while for others, it might take up to a day to discharge static.
However, we strongly advise letting us have your MacBook for at least a day so we can perform testing before and after the battery replacement. This ensures that we check for any other hidden issues with the MacBook. In the past, we have seen cases where clients come back complaining about other things after we changed the battery. If that happens, it results in more time being wasted, and we won’t be able to deliver a seamless experience for you.
✨ How long can the new battery last?
Honestly, no one knows the exact lifespan of a battery nor can Apple, but we would advise you to charge your MacBook wisely by referring to these guides (Fast charging | Constant charging). Additionally, avoid charging the battery and using your MacBook in extremely humid or hot environments to avoid change MacBook battery frequently.
✨ Can I leave my MacBook and the battery idle for weeks, months or years?
In general, you can safely leave your MacBook and battery idle for extended periods, but it’s crucial to take measures to maintain the battery’s health. If you intend to store your MacBook for a long time, it is advisable to charge the battery to approximately 50%, store it in a cool and dry place and use it at least once every two weeks to keep the battery in good condition.
✨ How much does it cost?
The cost varies depending on your choice between an OEM battery or an original battery. In addition, we provide a free cleaning service to remove dust from inside your Mac and reapply thermal paste to improve cooling.
✨ How can you get Apple stock?
Spare parts are not proprietary. Apple is primarily a software company that designs great software and hardware, but its products are manufactured in countries like China, Vietnam, India and Malaysia.
During SEMICON Southeast Asia 2023, Malaysia has been ranked among the top 10 global hubs for semiconductors and electronics. Overall, we are the seventh largest exporter of semiconductors in the world.
In 2021, Malaysia exported USD 9.43 billion in semiconductor devices. The main destinations for Malaysia’s exports of semiconductor devices were the United States ($2.18 billion), Hong Kong ($1.29 billion), Singapore ($1.18 billion), Germany ($1.02 billion) and China ($956 million).
✨ Do you have battery stock for an old MacBook?
We have ready stock for batteries dating back to 2008 for all MacBook Air and MacBook Pro models.
However, there is one exception: the MacBook 12-inch model from 2015 to 2017. In this case, we do not change the battery for this model because the battery connector is located under the logic board and the complexity can lead to a burnt logic board.
