When Apple first introduced the Apple Silicon processor Macs with the M-series processors like M1, M2, and M3, they stated that the hard drive upgrade and RAM were fixed and couldn’t be repaired or replaced by the end user. However, recent advancements and research have enabled us to modify the storage chipsets using soldering methods. This means that now we can repair and replace the storage chipset! It included all M processor Macs, including all Pro and Max processor models.
Hard Drive Upgrade Options
Currently, standard M processor Macs offer the choice to upgrade to 500GB, 1TB and 2TB, whereas Pro and Max processor models of Mac provide options to upgrade to 4TB and even 8TB. Feel free to get in touch with us for the latest pricing details.
How about RAM?
Currently, we cannot upgrade the RAM due to some technical challenges. Our R&D department is diligently working to overcome these limitations. Once RAM upgrading becomes possible, we will certainly announce and inform everyone as soon as possible!

Are the parts original?
Firstly, let’s clarify that Apple is not a hardware company. All hardware by Apple is primarily manufactured in China by Foxconn and now Apple’s supply chain also includes third-party manufacturers in Vietnam, India and even Malaysia!
For hard drive chipsets, Apple uses chips made by Hynix, Western Digital, and other storage chipset manufacturers. For upgrades like this, we use precisely the same chipsets from these manufacturers, providing the same speed, quality and structure.
Is there any warranty for the hard drive?
Certainly! We offer a one-year warranty for the hardware.
Do you need to back up before upgrading SSD?
Absolutely, as it involves a direct chipset replacement. This means the new drive starts empty, and you’ll begin anew. If you’re unsure how to back up your data and applications, we can assist you with the backup process. It’s essential to emphasize that it’s the user’s responsibility to back up, especially emails. YP Mac Technology is not liable for any data loss resulting from our backup services.
