Since offering MacBook hard drive upgrades, from older MacBook generations to the latest M2 and M3 MacBook Air and Pro, we’ve received many questions. Therefore, we decided to create a post to share the most frequently asked questions over the past twelve months.

Here are the FAQ’s
1️⃣ Will there be any difference in performance after the upgrade?
The direct answer is no. Apple uses the same chipsets, so you can expect the same speed and performance after the upgrade. We will check your Mac thoroughly first to make sure there are no issues before upgrading.
2️⃣ How long does this process take?
We estimate around two days, but if we can finish earlier, we’ll gladly let you know. If there is any delay, we’ll inform you in advance.
3️⃣ Does it come with any warranty?
Yes, we offer a six month warranty for the storage chipsets that we replace and upgrade.
4️⃣ Do I need to back up all my apps and data?
Yes. This is a straightforward chipset replacement with no extra add ons. We can help you back up and restore with Time Machine, but please note that some apps may need to be reactivated after the restore.
5️⃣ How come Apple allows this upgrade when they say it can’t be upgraded after purchase?
Apple hardware is made by third-party companies like Foxconn, Hitachi, Samsung, and LG. We source parts from these same manufacturers. We use the soldering method, which is the same process used to attach the hardware to the logic board (motherboard).
6️⃣ Worried if it will affect future software updates, macOS upgrades, or system formatting?
No need to worry! The hard drive works perfectly fine. Apple also uses the same storage chipsets for customising MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, iMac, and Mac Mini.
