Now, according to 9to5Mac, Apple reveals that the iPhone 15 can retain 80% of its original capacity after 1000 complete charge cycles.
Apple conducted tests involving charging and discharging the battery 1000 times under specific conditions representing typical usage scenarios. This enhancement results from Apple’s continuous improvements to battery components and power management systems over time.
This change in battery cycle lifespan applies solely to the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max. Previous iPhone models remain rated at retaining up to 80% capacity after 500 complete charge cycles. However, Apple states it’s presently investigating older iPhone models as well.
iPhone 15 Battery Status Normal?
In iOS 17.4, Apple updates the Battery and Battery Health details displayed in the Settings app. Now, from the main Battery screen, it’s evident when the iPhone battery health is “normal.” Upon navigating to the “Battery” screen in Settings, two new menus emerge: “Battery Health” and “Charging Optimization.”
This allows users to quickly view their charging optimization settings and verify if their battery health is “normal.” Additionally, users can tap on either setting for further information.
